“‘Dark day for internet freedom’: EU lawmakers approve controversial copyright reform”

“The European Parliament has voted to adopt the highly controversial Article 13 provision which would govern the production and distribution of content online under the auspices of increasing copyright protections….

Article 13 or ‘The Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market’ makes all platforms legally responsible for the content hosted and shared on their platforms…

The law will require anyone sharing copyrighted content to obtain permission from rights owners, even if the content is just an animated GIF on Twitter…”

Codyright laws shouldn’t exist. All information should be free. With this new corrupt law, which will be selectively enforced, all platforms not part of the establishment can be sued out of existence if their users or commenters upload or link to a song from Hollywood or a news article.

But you know what? This can work in the public’s favor if they exile Hollywood and mainstream media. If all platforms outside the establishment ban their content they will go extinct.
