“Google Fined Record $2.7 Billion in E.U. Antitrust Ruling”

“Google suffered a major blow on Tuesday after European antitrust officials fined the search giant a record $2.7 billion for unfairly favoring some of its own search services over those of rivals.

the $2.7 billion fine announced on Tuesday is tiny compared with Google’s $90 billion in annual revenue

“Any changes the EU forces on Google’s business model “could eventually apply to any way that Amazon, Facebook or anyone else offers to search for products or services,” said Michael A. Carrier, a law professor at Rutgers University.”
